On the walls at NewTV, you will find unique photo compositions by photographer/playwright, Marika Barnett. These pieces started with one still camera photo that was repeated, flipped and flopped three more times until a final and fifth image took shape and took on a life of its own. Upon closer examination, you will start to pick out details of buildings, people, and trees against an expanse of clouds. You may have to tilt your body to view the original image the way your equilibrium wants to see it. If you put your hands on your waist, you can turn viewing into a good exercise for the waist as well as your mind! Repeat 10 times for each picture. I bet you never thought you could tone up by looking at artwork! Marika did most of the exercise by traveling the world to collect the original images. She tries to pre-visualize her fifth image while she is taking her first. It is a similar process to conceiving a symphony, painting, or a completed TV show. Come see this spectacular show through the end of October. All works are priced very reasonably. If you are a teacher, or just adventurous, you may want to try the art and geography quiz that goes with the show. For more information contact: Melinda Gordon 617-965-7200 X118.
