Objets Trouvés

This is B. J.'s first solo show at NewTV. She began painting in 1966 has not not stopped since. Her work explores the contradictions of life. This exhibit tests the boundary between sculpture and painting. B. J. usually paints when she is near the ocean, so it has a heavy influence on her work. this exhibit features pieces that are more representational and incorporate what would otherwise be unnoticed objects. These objets trouvés gain importance and meaning when placed centerstage in a painting – the viewer is forced to give them a second look.
