Not sure what the difference is between Mbps and MBps? Getting lost in technical lingo while trying to pick an internet package? Our director of operations, Steve Russo, can clear up your confusion.
Over the last four years (and one month) I’ve worn many hats here at NewTV. As the Digital Marketing Specialist, I’ve been the voice behind the social media. I’ve been an event planner. I’ve been a web content manager. I’ve been a flyer designer. I’ve been a class instructor. I’ve been a researcher. I’ve been a social media correspondent during live election night coverage. I’ve been a leader of the podcasting committee.
Autumn has arrived and with it a new season of television and cinema. Everything old is new again. A fully bearded Alex Trebek debuted in his 35th and last year as host of Jeopardy. Candice Bergen is back on CBS as Murphy Brown, and Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga grace the silver screen in the fourth version of the Hollywood classic A Star is Born.
NewTV is always changing and evolving to keep up with new technology. We want our members to learn to use the most up-to-date equipment and software. Whether our staff members have been here only a year or they are seasoned veterans, everyone has witnessed a lot of upgrades during their time here. They took the time to reflect on the biggest changes during their tenure.
I’ve talked about all the different types of USB connectors, I‘ve talked about phones, and I’ve talked about Apple being annoying. While Apple is still very annoying, I wanted to return to the topic of USB-C cables, because right now it’s a bit of a mess. USB-C is the not-so-new universal and reversible USB cable. Here’s an image for reference for all the connectors I’ll be referring to:
Hey everyone, my name is Brian Hebert and I am the new Director of Member Services here at NewTV. I am beyond excited to start this new chapter of my life and wanted to take a minute to tell you a little bit about myself.
Philadelphia, the city of brotherly love and birthplace of our country, was the backdrop for this year’s annual NATOA (National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors) conference.
Yesterday, I had the pleasure of witnessing NewTV’s Skype capabilities in our control room for a show episode that was close to my heart. A year ago, I visited the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam with my sister. I have always been interested in the Holocaust, so I’ve been to many museums and read many books on the topic. I thought the Anne Frank house was extremely well presented and I was excited that Skype would allow Jay Sugarman to interview a guest from this amazing museum on his show, Museum Open House.
This summer, NewTV is holding its fourth annual Summer Photo Contest. Participants can submit photos to four categories: best overall photo, most exotic location, best photo in Newton and best use of NewTV swag. The winners will receive an Amazon gift card and recognition on our social media channels. It’s always great to see what people come up with. As with everything here at NewTV, the staff members are here to give you advice and inspiration. So this year, we decided to share photos from the coolest places we have been to inspire your “most exotic location” entries.
When summer comes around, your favorite primetime series go on hiatus and a fresh new crop of shows hit the television. Summer TV is full of bold, fun and interesting programs that are sure to delight. They may even be something you look forward to all year. The NewTV staff members share their favorite summer TV series.
One question that I’ve been asked countless times over the years by NewTV members is, “What kind of a hard drive should I buy?” Sometimes that’s a tough question to answer because there are so many variables.
It can be hard to find a show to watch in today’s saturated television landscape. You might feel overwhelmed by the amount of options available. It can be useful to know what type of program you like. Today, NewTV staff members share their favorite television show genres.
For the most part, internships are a one-time event. Interns come for a semester or the summer and then head back to school. But sometimes, interns who are still in school want to come back and intern again.
On Thursday, I went to the John M. Barry Boys & Girls Club of Newton with Director of Marketing and Creative Services, Shelly Kamanitz, to deliver a donation of board games. NewTV initially purchased the games to be used as centerpieces at our Third Annual Teamwork Trivia Challenge event, and now the children at the Club will get to play with them.
