Elections and Moving Forward

One of the most significant initiatives approved by the voters was the review of the city’s charter and the election of a Charter Review Commission. The nine elected members of this body will spend the next two years studying how the city operates and compare it to other cities. The commission will have the power to propose changes.  A series of public hearings will occur and the process will involve a great deal of public input before the final recommendations come before the voters in the November 2017 election. NewTV will work with the new commission in the coming months to cover the process and bring transparency as the review unfolds.
