If you own a wireless microphone, you might be breaking the law! In 2010, the FCC prohibited the operation of wireless microphones and similar devices (e.g., wireless intercoms, wireless in-ear monitors, wireless audio instrument links and wireless cueing equipment) in the 700 MHz Band (698 - 806 MHz). In 2017, the FCC prohibited the operation of these same devices in the 600 MHz Band (609 - 698 MHz).

There are two major groups like this in our area, one of which is MassAccess.


Is Snapchat Dead?

For those who don’t know, Snapchat is an app that allows users to send temporary photos or videos to others. Over the years, its capabilities have expanded to allow for text chats, stories (videos or photos that all of a user’s contacts can see that last 24 hours) and branded content. At any point, the recipient of a snapchat can take a screenshot, but the sender will be notified.


Celebrating Newton Artists

Newton offers a wealth of events for anyone interested in the arts. One of these is Newton Open Studios (NOS) – a yearly exhibit of Newton artists showing and selling their work in various locations across the city. I’d never been in town during NOS before, and I wanted to experience it for the first time and support the artists by visiting their work in a venue outside of NewTV – and I’m glad I did.
