Decision 2019

Newton has some important elections coming up this fall, and NewTV will be producing and airing its live election coverage at 7:30pm on November 5. Races for School Committee and City Council will all be covered.

More and more people are interested in local elections now, so in order to reach as many viewers as possible, NewTV will be broadcasting its election night coverage on multiple platforms: airing on the Government Channel and live streaming on the NewTV website and on Facebook Live.

NewTV is partnering again with the League of Women Voters for the debate pre-production – a collaboration that we are grateful for and that has worked very well in the past.

Candidates’ messages will be recorded in the studio and uploaded to Vimeo, where the candidates can share them on their websites and on social media.

NewTV will also air the messages on the Government Channel every day for two to three weeks until the election, distributing as much information as possible to Newton voters.

Newton News Director Jenn Adams will also be hosting the live coverage with in-studio guests, interviews and field reports from candidates’ parties. Results will be delivered live from the studio. Follow us on social media at #NewTVDecision2019.

Keep up with our debates through our Vimeo or through our cable Government Channel (Comcast 9 • RCN 13, 581 (HD) • Verizon 33).
