Memorial Day Weekend Information

The Nonantum Children's Christmas Party Association, in conjunction with the American Legion Post 440, Women's Auxiliary, St Mary of Carmen Society, the HAC, and the Sons of the American Legion will be participating in our annual Memorial Day Wreath Laying Ceremonies.

These ceremonies will take place around Nonantum and on the dedicated bridges over the Massachusetts Turnpike on Sunday, May 24th beginning at 9AM at Forte Park. Each ceremony will include a speech, prayer, wreath laying and the playing of Taps. This will be video recorded so the tradition can be shared with all who are unable to attend.

Please respect City and State public health advisories.

The Nonantum Children’s Christmas Party Association would also like to announce the first Nonantum Rolling Memorial! They concluded this would be the safest way, most related to our traditional parades, to honor those service members who left to fight for our great country and never made it home. This rolling memorial will cover almost every street in Nonantum, and then travel through other Newton Villages as well as parts of Waltham and Watertown. They ask that you respect all advisories currently in place while watching. Please join them from your homes on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25th, beginning at 1PM. Our Rolling Memorial will be led, as tradition dictates, by the Nonantum Bell. You should hear them coming!

For specific locations for both events, visit their website at nonantumCCPA.org for a complete listing.
