Massachusetts Reopening: Phase 4, Step 2

Governor Baker announced that effective April 30, face coverings will be relaxed for some outdoor settings as part of the Phase 4, Step 2 reopening plan. Effective May 10: Large venues such as indoor and outdoor stadium, arenas and ballparks currently at 12 percent will be permitted to increase to 25 percent. Amusement parks, theme parks, and outdoor water parks will be permitted to operate at 50% capacity after submitting safety plans to the DPH. Road Races and other large outdoor organized amateur or professional group athletic events will be permitted to take place with staggered starts after submitting plans to DPH Youth and adult amateur sports tournaments will be allowed for moderate or high risk sports. Singing will also be permitted indoors with strict distancing requirements at performance venues, restaurants, event venues and other businesses. Effective May 29, subject to public health and vaccination data: Gatherings limited will increase to 200 people indoors and 250 people outdoors for events, public and private settings. Street festivals, parades and agricultural festival can open at 50 percent of their previous capacity. Bars, beer gardens, breweries, wineries, and distilleries can open with no food ordering, 10 people to a table and a 90 minute limit. Effective August 1st, Subject to public health and vaccination data, everything will be open and all restrictions will be lifted. This is possible to happen sooner depending on the data.
