In a 21-2 (Gentile, Malakie) with one absent (Baker) vote, the project slated for 1314 Washington Street in West Newton moves forward. The 50 residential unit with 9 affordable, and a possible restaurant in front was charted by Councilor Lenny Gentile in December 2022 and spoke of why he did so and why he won’t vote in favor of the new development.
