NewTV has long been a supporter of local artists, displaying their work in our gallery, which rotates every month or so. For the last four years, we’ve hosted our popular wine and cheese receptions, which celebrate the new exhibits and allow guests to meet the artists and mingle with their friends and families. The receptions are free to the public and are usually held midweek from 6:30-8:30pm.

While we primarily focus on Newton-based artists, working with Newton Open Studios and New Art Center, we also encourage artists from the Boston area to show their work, and have had many successful shows with individual artists.
We are excited to announce our upcoming exhibits, introducing some new artists, while continuing to collaborate with those who have previously exhibited with us:

In Pursuit of the Elements: Air, Earth, Water, Fire

A group of seven local artists, led by New Art Center instructor Jeanne Gugino, interpret the four elements of the world (earth, water, air and fire) through beautifully layered watercolor paintings.

Reception: October 8, 6:30-8:30pm

Exhibit runs from October 4 - October 29

Kevin Haynes Solo Exhibit

Back by popular demand, Boston artist Kevin Haynes will have his second solo show at NewTV this year. Always a crowd-pleaser, Kevin’s work is a mix of bold, abstract paintings and imaginative, playful video art.

Reception: November 5, 6:30-8:30pm

Exhibit runs from November 3 – December 2

Newton Open Studios Juror Award Exhibit

Nick Capasso, director of the Fitchburg Art Museum, has awarded top honors to 10 local artists. Their work runs the gamut from stunning lace-and-plexiglass mixed media to zipper-based jewelry, and includes paintings, ceramics, oversized woodcut prints, manipulated photographs and hand-made art-books.

Reception: TBD. (Check regularly for updates.)

Exhibit runs from early December through January 31

NewTV helps increase exposure for artists through the gallery and by allowing them the opportunity to display their work on our website. The work is for sale by individual artists. All current and previous exhibits are on the site at If you aren’t able to make the receptions for these exhibits, you can visit the gallery any time during office hours: Mon-Thurs., 10am-9pm, Fri., 10am-6pm, Sat, 10am-6pm, Sun, 12pm-6pm.
