Healthy Spots to Eat in Newton

From vacation plans, to shuffling kids around between summer camp and babysitters, the supposedly relaxing summer months can feel anything but. Sometimes it seems like your best option for a quick bite is to grab a burger and fries on your way to the next event. Luckily, Newton has lots of restaurants that offer healthy alternatives, which are just as quick and easy as that greasy burger. Not to mention you'll feel more energized and better equipped to handle your busy summer schedule.

Pressed Café - 300 Needham Street

This Israeli café serves the Newton area perfectly. With nutritious and delicious options available quickly, it’s hard not to stop by on your lunch break. Our favorite menu items have been the Wipe-the-Plate with Pita, the Red Dragon Stir-Fry Bowl, Roasted Red Pepper Tomato Bisque, and Potato Salad. Don't forget to check out their fresh juices in glass bottles, or their innovative selection of smoothies, coffees, and other beverages! Their food can be ordered to go, or have a seat in their spacious indoor dining area or on their patio. Check out their Newton location's menu here. Pressed has other locations throughout greater Boston and New Hampshire.

Grape Leaf Mediterranean Café - 6 Lincoln Street

It’s important to shine a light on the businesses making Newton what it is, and the Grape Leaf Mediterranean Café is certainly a hidden gem in the Newton Highlands. Their Avgolemono soup, Fatoush salad, and Mediterranean Bowl are fan favorites on their unique and authentic menu. If you want to be blown away by the quality and taste of a meal, a trip to Grape Leaf is a must! Take a look at their menu here.

Jake's Falafel Corner - 740A Beacon Street

Located in Newton Centre, this quaint falafel spot is ideal for healthy take out. (The inside seating area is small, so it can quickly become full.) The food doesn’t take long to make and is always prepared fresh. In addition to a wide variety of falafel flavors, Jake's also offers Shawarma, Middle Eastern plates, and a myriad vegetarian options. You can always rely on getting an amazing quality meal for an equally amazing price! You can see Jakes Falafel Corner's menu here.

Farm Grille & Rotisserie - 40 Needham Street

Located on Needham Street, Farm Grille is actually right across the street from us here at NewTV! This restaurant boasts traditional greek cuisine rich with vitamins and nutrients. Fresh salads, delicious kabobs, and a variety of seafood options keep this place packed with visitors. A beautiful outdoor aesthetic makes it a popular venue for private events; in fact, Sundays are reserved exclusively for small gatherings and events. You can also bring Farm Grille to your event at home or work with their catering packages! Check out both their regular menu and catering menu!

B. Good - 55 Needham Street

Another restaurant on Needham Street, B. Good is a chain of health-food restaurants featuring many unique sandwiches and salads. The Watermelon Feta Salad is available for the summer months, and their Turkey Burgers are year-round favorites. They have numerous locations throughout greater Boston, including Dedham, Northeastern University, and Longwood Avenue. Check out their menu here. These five restaurants are merely a sampling of the healthy alternatives available in and around Newton. Did we miss your favorite spot? Let us know in the comments or send us an email!
