HNP: Picturing Political Power: Images in the Women’s Suffrage Movement

Join Allison K. Lange, assistant professor of history at the Wentworth Institute of Technology, for a talk that will analyze gender, images and political power from the founding of the U.S. through the passage of the 19th amendment granting women the right to vote in 1920. Based on her book, Picturing Political Power: Images in the Women’s Suffrage Movement, Ms. Lange will examine the ways that suffragists used images throughout their campaign. This program is cosponsored by Historic Newton as part of the Newton History Series.
Programming on Comcast Ch. 9, RCN Ch. 13, Verizon Ch. 33
