On the Sunny Side of the Street - Cash For Refugees

Natasha discusses the program she and her husband, Semyon, started that provides emergency relief(cash) to Ukranian families fleeing the Russian invasion of Ukraine. They developed a network of volunteers who contribute money and/or fly to Ukraine to directly give money to families crossing the border. These families are often separated from their loved ones who stay to fight in the war and have to adjust to a new country and provide for their children. The importance of having cash( in the currency of the country they are fleeing to) for immediate needs dictated their strategy of providing of greeting these refugees warmly and offering them cash.
