IMPORTANT UPDATE: Due to a recent spike in COVID-19 cases, both in Massachusetts and throughout the United States, NewTV has decided to continue its limited hours and special guidelines into the month of September. Please click here for more details about our September procedures for visiting NewTV. The health and safety of our staff, our members, and the entire Newton community remains our number one priority.

Museum Open House - Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum

Jay talks with K. David Weidner, Ph.D. and Steven Peters. David serves as the executive director of the Pilgrim Monument and the Provincetown Museum. Steven is the creative marketing director at SmokeSygnals, a marketing and communications agency located in Mashpee. He’s also the curator of the fascinating new exhibit at the Provincetown Museum entitled “Our Story: The Complicated Relationship of the Indigenous Wampanoag and the Mayflower Pilgrims.” During the program, we’ll be learning about the history and current mission of the Pilgrim Monument and the Provincetown Museum, we’ll go on a behind-the-scenes tour of the new Our Story exhibit, and, in the process, come to better understand and appreciate the Wampanoag Tribes history on Cape Cod-- particularly their encounter and existence with the Pilgrims.
