Museum Open House - Women of Color Quilters Network

Jay talks with Carolyn Mazloomi, PhD.Trained as an aerospace engineer, Dr. Mazloomi is also a highly accomplished fiber artist, master quilter, historian, writer, and mentor. In addition, she is the founder of the Women of Color Quilters Network—a vibrant and dynamic non-profit organization begun in 1985. During the program, we’ll learning why and how the Women of Color Quilters Network came about and how it’s grown, developed, and operates today. To better understand and appreciate its overall mission, we’ll go on a behind-the-scenes tour of its current multi-site initiative of quilt exhibitions entitled We Are the Story—curated by Dr. Mazloomi and presented by the Textile Center & Women of Color Quilters Network.
